Number plate recognition: introducing the Rondier

Number plate recognition: introducing the Rondier

Hesion solutions detect and identify vehicles in car parks using number plate recognition, making it easier to manage parking and enforce your site's parking policy based on complex criteria such as occupancy rate, the number of vehicles already present, user profiles (permit holder, visitor, resident, contractor, delivery driver) and their respective permissions.

Hesion has developed a new device – Rondier – that makes it easy to inventory the vehicles present in a car park.

Number plate recognition: how it works

Rondier connects to our number plate recognition software system. It helps improve the accuracy of your parking operations and access control.

Any number plate recognition access control system will naturally develop discrepancies in vehicle counts, due to power outages, tailgating, damaged plates, …).

It is therefore sometimes necessary to bring the system back into line with actual occupancy to optimise car park management. You also need to ensure that your parking rules are being followed.

Simple and effective: equipped with a tablet, you pass each vehicle to record it, either by car or on foot depending on the size of your car park. You can then synchronise the collected data with your number plate recognition system in just a few clicks.

Introducing Rondier, a versatile number plate recognition system

All the equipment needed to inventory the vehicles in your car park using number plate recognition is contained in a carrying case.

Two cameras are mounted on the vehicle's front side windows, one on the left and one on the right. For access control checks, they are powered simply through the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket (12V socket).

Installing Rondier on a vehicle

You can drive through your entire car park at speeds of up to 15 km/h to identify all vehicles present. An intuitive touchscreen tablet interface lets you quickly analyse all the data collected by the system. Features include: handling vehicles without plates, number plate recognition, a thumbnail of the last vehicle detected, ….

Whatever your installation, the number plate recognition system can be deployed and the module configured quickly, enabling your teams to get up and running with number plate-based parking access in very little time.

Vehicle mode is particularly well suited to large car parks or sites with multiple parking areas. If you manage a small car park or do not have a vehicle available, do not worry! In pedestrian mode, all you need is a tablet to walk around your car park. The rest of the system stays the same, and you retain access to every feature.

Vehicle identification with Rondier

You can also switch from vehicle mode to tablet mode and back in a single click to identify vehicles with Rondier.

Hesion's mission

Our mission is to keep innovating in number plate-based parking access. By listening closely to our customers, we analyse your needs and prepare a technical study to provide a tailored parking management proposal.
