Research & Development… starts with Research ! What does that involve ?

Research is essential because it enables us to deliver ever more effective and innovative solutions.

Technology monitoring and « Proof Of Concept » projects account for more than 20% of our Research & Development Department’s time.

This work draws on a wide range of sources: books, websites, research papers, theses…

Research is a complex field, full of uncertainty and setbacks, but sometimes an idea, a technology or a feature emerges. All the solutions and features we currently offer began this way.

Proof Of Concept (POC)

One stage in the research process is the « Proof Of Concept », or « POC ». This is a practical, short-term experiment that demonstrates whether an idea is feasible. It is an essential step in assessing an idea’s technical and financial viability.

Several years can sometimes pass between launching a POC and bringing a solution to market (if the POC is successful).

The R&D team carries out one or two POCs a year, only some of which will actually lead to a commercial launch.

This entire research process drives continuous improvement in our solutions and the service Hesion provides. Beyond research and Proof Of Concept projects, the R&D team constantly monitors technology to keep pace with developments in a rapidly changing field.
